Ruthrash Hari

Biography

Ruthrash is a 2nd year Meng student in the ECE department at the University of Toronto. He completed his Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Trichy- one of the premier institutes of India. Since his undergraduate studies he has been extensively involved in solving problems revolving around Robotics and Machine Intelligence. His field of research is Autonomous Navigation. He aspires to be a robotics research engineer solving end-to-end problems in this field, from perception and cognition to control of robots.

He has long term experience in programming algorithms for mobile robots using various tools that come with Robotic Operating System(ROS). He has theoretical as well as practical knowledge in solving Computer-Vision, State Estimation ,and SLAM problems for perception and optimal, and state-space control of robots. Currently, he is working on solving navigation problems for the semi-humanoid robot-Pepper as part of "Ubiquitous Robotics to support older people with dementia" project.
