Biography

Cathy received her B.A.Sc in Engineering Science, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, and M.Eng in Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto. During her undergraduate studies, she was involved in various projects in the biomedical field including radiation therapy, tracheal intubation, and positional sleep apnea. For her Masters, she focused on quality improvement and process optimization in healthcare settings.

Cathy joined the IATSL team in September 2016 as a Research Analyst under the supervision of Dr. Taati Babak and Dr. Azadeh Yadollahi. Her research focuses on vision-based monitoring of sleep with the ultimate goal of developing an inexpensive, noncontact, and unobtrusive tool for detection of sleep apnea.
