Biography
Zhidong is a joint Ph.D. candidate in Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto under Dr. Shehroz Khan’s supervision. He is also a registered Ph.D. candidate since 2020 at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China. Before that, he received his bachelor of engineering in Automation and Electrical Engineering from BIT in 2018. Then he studied as a master student preparing his Ph.D. degree pursuing program.
Zhidong’s research topic now is to implement deep-learning based one-class classifiers for agitation detection in order to better serve the elderly living with dementia. Before that he did some work on human pose recognition, pedestrian location and trajectory tracking. His research interests lie in PU-learning, deep learning, motion analysis, inertia data processing, Internet of things, as well as interdisciplinary applications.
