Biography
Chaitali holds a Masters of Science in Healthcare Quality from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Ryerson University. She has over 10 years of experience as a healthcare quality improvement specialist improving patient experience and outcomes in primary care, hospital based and long-term care. She also has significant experience in being a community member and an advisory member of committees overseeing regional and national research initiatives related to older adults, dementia and technology (Toronto Dementia Research Alliance, AGE-WELL).
Chaitali’s research interests include improving the quality of life of older adults, people with dementia and their caregivers. Specifically, she is interested in how technology can be used to help older adults with dementia maintain their independence and reduce caregiver burden. She is currently working on a research study, supervised by Dr. Rosalie Wang, looking at relationships between older adults with cognitive impairments and family caregivers and their influence on information and communication technology use.
