Biography
Chaitali is a PhD student at the University of Toronto, Rehabilitation Sciences Institute. Her research, supervised by Dr. Rosalie Wang and Dr. Brian Chan, focuses on using assistive technology products and services to support the physical and psychological health of people living with dementia, their caregivers, and the growing aging population in Canada. She is also an advisory member of committees overseeing local, regional and national research initiatives related to older adults, dementia and technology (Toronto Dementia Research Alliance, AGE-WELL NCE Inc).
Chaitali received her MSc in Healthcare Quality from Queen's University and a BEng in Industrial Engineering from Ryerson University. She has extensive experience in primary care, hospital-based and long-term care settings applying quality improvement methods to design processes to improve patient experience and outcomes. She has also previously worked in the manufacturing industry, applying industrial engineering methods to design production layouts and processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and ensure quality standards are maintained.
