Biography

Haining Tan completed his Bachelor of Science in 2022 at the University of Toronto with specialists in Computer Science and Data Science. Currently, he’s pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Computing (MScAC) at the University of Toronto. His MScAC research project involves the development of AI-powered smart glasses for sensing and recognition of human-robot walking environments under the co-supervision of Dr. Brokoslaw Laschowski and Dr. Alex Mihailidis. He is located at the KITE Research Institute, UHN, as a research intern.

Haining has research interests in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and Bayesian probabilistic modeling. His previous research projects include partial domain adaptation for point cloud classification and Bayesian analysis of normalizing flow models using importance sampling.
